Self-discovery in Hyperprostor: when a shamanic animal chooses you

Today I'm turning on a new self-discovery feature in Hyperprostor.

It's called daemon. Or, more civilly, a shamanic animal.

It's not just a profile decoration. It's a small symbolic system that tracks how you behave in Hyperprostor: how you talk to Digi people, what you solve in lounges, what types of questions you ask, how you return to topics, and what way of thinking gradually crystallizes around you.

And then a strange thing can happen:

the animal chooses you.

How it works

The condition to create a daemon is to reach 3. level.

This is important. I don't want the animal to be assigned after two clicks. It should only be created when Hyperprostor knows something about you. Not personal data in the boring administrative sense. Rather, a trace of behavior: style, rhythm, themes, relation to the world and to other beings in the system.

There are a total of 12 types of animal companions.

Eight species have appeared so far: 14 beavers, 8 ravens, 5 owls, 3 bears, 2 wolves, 1 fox, 1 lynx and 1 doe.

So four species are still waiting to be discovered.

Animal as a mirror

What I like about this is that the daemon isn't a "collect points and get a skin" kind of reward.

It's more like a mirror.

The raven can carry memory, transformation, distance, and the ability to see things from above. Beaver construction, endurance and practical work. Owl silent wisdom. Feature stealth and sharpness. Bear strength, protection and boundaries. Fox flexibility, cunning and playfulness.

It is not a psychological test with a definitive verdict. More like a symbolic language, with which a person can notice something that has been in his behavior for a long time.

Why we do it

For me, hyperspace is not just an AI chat.

It is an environment where people meet, Digi people, salons, memory, tasks, relationships and longer term digital identity. And in such an environment, it makes sense for people to recognize themselves not only through performance metrics, but also through symbols.

Levels tell you how much you've gone through.

Daemon says something more subtle: how you move through the world.

This is more interesting to me than a simple ranking.

The leaderboard will show who has the most XP. The daemon will indicate what type of energy is behind it.

First dates are cute.

The most are beavers. This means that there are a lot of people in Hyperprostor who build, test, fix, return to things, and have persistence.

The Ravens are second. Memory, transformation, thinking in symbols and the ability to return to topics from another side.

Then owls, bears, wolves, fox, lynx and roe deer.

Four species remain undiscovered. And that's exactly the kind of little magic I like: the system is already running, but it still has secrets.
